About the department: Investments Technology Services forms part of the Operations division within Aberdeen. Its key function is to provide global technology services, aligned to the company’s operating model, to enable the implementation of business strategy. Investments Technology Solutions delivers the capabilities needed to execute that strategy with appropriate assurance and alignment to standards, policies and targets.

About The Role

As a Power BI Developer within the Investments team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining BI solutions that provide actionable insights to drive investment strategies and decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop interactive and visually appealing Power BI reports and dashboards
  • Transform raw data into meaningful insights through data modelling, DAX calculations, and visualization techniques
  • Integrate data from various sources, ensuring data accuracy and consistency
  • Develop and maintain ETL processes to streamline data flow into Power BI
  • Work closely with investment analysts, portfolio managers, and other stakeholders to understand their data needs and deliver tailored BI solutions
  • Collaborate with the wider BI team to ensure alignment with overall BI strategy and best practices
  • Optimize Power BI reports and dashboards for performance and usability
  • Implement best practices for data visualization and user experience
  • Provide training and support to business users on Power BI tools and functionalities
  • Assist users in developing their own reports and dashboards through self-service BI
  • Stay updated with the latest Power BI features and industry trends
  • Continuously seek opportunities to enhance BI solutions and processes

About The Candidate

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • Proven experience as a Power BI Developer, preferably within the Investments sector
  • Strong proficiency in Power BI, including data modelling, DAX, and Power Query
  • Experience with SQL and data integration techniques
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development
