About The Role
Public Market Operations plays a key role in powering the investment management process. Our aim is to provide our stakeholders with value-add investment performance insights, exceptional value from our platform/data vendors and an enabling innovation partner. All underpinned by a service culture and a focus on our clients.
In this position you will report to the Cash and Collateral Senior Manager within Public Market Operations, and will be responsible for performing Cash, FX and Collateral Operations related activity in a variety of forms. You will be expected to learn BAU activity initially, whilst also getting involved in a wide variety of complex queries and projects as your knowledge develops.
Key Responsibilities

Providing Trade Support services for FX and Money Market instruments (Deposits/CDs/CPs/Liquidity Sweep/Repo), working closely with the FX and Money Market Investment teams.

Being the first point of contact within Operations for Fund Managers and Client Relationship Managers who have queries on Cash related items, and representing the team on service review meetings with these colleagues. This extends to understanding the challenges of these stakeholders and identifying where our team can assist.

Overseeing Margin processes and Collateral Management.

Identifying and implementing process improvements, utilising the available technology tools.

Management of supplier service in relation to Cash and Collateral activities with an outsourced Middle Office and Custodian.

Management of broker relationships through service review meetings.

Oversight of the investigation and resolution of complex issues across multiple systems, data flows and user groups.

Working with Custodians to ensure FX Standing Instruction setups are in place and accurately recorded on Aberdeen systems.

Investigation of overdrafts including root cause, devising ways to prevent reoccurrence.

Assisting with presenting on team activities, successes and issues to senior management.
About The Candidate

This position will be suitable for an experienced Senior/Technical analyst, with a wealth of experience in Investment Operations
-
Cash, Trade Support and/or Collateral knowledge.
-
Experience of creating and nurturing long-term relationships, particularly with Fund Managers, Traders and Client Relationship teams. This includes orchestrating complex query resolution where input is required from multiple teams.

Track record of both delivery of small scale local change, as well as participating as a department SME in strategic firmwide projects.

The ability to work in a diverse and demanding environment managing conflicting priorities with calm and ease – delivering a seamless stakeholder service.

The ability and tenacity to drive change through to completion and a naturally curious and inquisitive mind-set.

Strong knowledge of the asset management industry and of overseeing an outsourced operating model.

IOC or IMC qualifications desired.
