THE ROLE
This permanent, full-time role (37 hours per week) is an excellent opportunity to develop your accounting career within a dynamic and creative organisation. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the preparation of management accounts, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring timely reporting across all three venues. The role is primarily based at The Lemon Tree, with occasional working across all Aberdeen Performing Arts venues.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Support the preparation of monthly management accounts
- Prepare journals, prepayments, and accruals
- Assist with balance sheet reconciliations
- Contribute to financial reporting for managers and quarterly Board reports
- Analyse financial data to support decision-making
- Ensure accurate recording across all financial ledgers
- Maintain compliance with financial processes and procedures
- Provide cover and support across the finance team when required
- Build strong working relationships with colleagues across the organisation
Your work will be crucial in ensuring accurate reporting, strong financial control, and supporting informed decision-making across the organisation.
ABOUT YOU
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has experience working in a finance role, with knowledge of purchase, sales, cash, and general ledgers
- Is confident using Microsoft Excel and has strong IT skills
- Has experience using an accounting system (Sage Intacct experience is desirable)
- Has a good understanding of accounting principles
- Is working towards or holds a relevant qualification (HNC/HND/Degree or AAT/CIMA/ACCA pathway), or has equivalent experience
- Has strong numeracy and communication skills
- Is highly organised, detail-oriented, and able to meet deadlines
- Can work collaboratively as part of a team
We’re also looking for someone who is enthusiastic, eager to learn, adaptable, and brings a positive, proactive attitude to a busy working environment.
