Our Business Partnering team provides commercial financial support and challenge to senior customers within the business. The consultant role forms part of this team, providing financial support and analysis to facilitate commercial and strategic decision making. The role operates as a member of the team and includes active participation in senior stakeholder meetings.

The incumbent will work closely with colleagues and key business stakeholders to support commercial and strategic decision making, helping to ensure commercial objectives are met. Responsibilities include delivering a consistent, high-quality approach to producing insight and information. The role partners with the Adviser business and the broader Finance function.

Key responsibilities:
  • Preparing financial modelling and analysis to support key commercial and strategic decision making for a range of initiatives, including market analysis, performance tracking, business intelligence, planning and forecasting.
  • Providing and evaluating non-routine analysis of financial performance, trends and variance analysis, with supporting improvement recommendations.
  • Producing financial analysis to support leadership reviews.
  • Supporting the automation of routine analysis by facilitating the incorporation of procedures within Financial Operations and Reporting.
  • Working closely with the accounting team to ensure new business initiatives are supported by appropriate technical opinions and accurate general ledger representation.
  • Embracing new technologies to increase productivity by developing automated reporting and analysis tools.
  • Demonstrating robust modelling with data drawn from robust sources and with appropriate control and validation steps.
About the Candidate:
  • Ability to interpret data with market perspective and communicate effectively.
  • Ability to provide guidance and business support that balances business needs and corporate compliance.
  • Excellent analytical ability and attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication tailored to the audience.
  • Strong IT skills, including constructing and interpreting financial models in Excel.
  • Awareness of digital technologies; credibility with stakeholders through relationships, communication, influence and confidence.
  • Determined, assertive, and able to engage in the detail to understand complex commercial drivers.
  • Accountability for quality and delivery; good time management and ability to prioritise under strict reporting deadlines.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
