The predicted salary is between 24000 - 36000 £ per year.
Please note that from 1 April 2023, candidates applying for roles requiring PVG membership will need to cover the cost of the membership. This applies only to roles with a full-time equivalent salary of £30,000 and above, including teaching roles and jobs at Grade 12 and above (currently £32,555 per annum / £16.92 per hour).
The Council will initially pay for the PVG membership cost—either £18 for existing PVG scheme members or £59 for non-members—and this amount will be deducted from the employee’s first full month’s salary.
Job purpose/about the role
As an active member of a large front-of-house team, you will provide security and customer care at all Aberdeen Art Gallery and Museums venues. The role also involves providing specialised support for Collections work. You will work closely with all teams within the Art Gallery and Museums and assist as needed. The position requires working on a set rota, including regular weekend shifts, occasional evenings, and lone working.
Minimum requirements
- Educated to Standard Grade or equivalent
- Possession of a current First Aid certificate or the ability to obtain one
Skills and experience
- Excellent customer care and interpersonal skills, demonstrated through previous experience working with the public
- Proven experience in security work
- Effective communication skills, both oral and written, with a wide range of people
- Ability to remain alert, anticipate potential problems, and apply suitable resolutions
- Ability to work successfully as part of a team or independently
- Practical DIY skills
