Location: Kittybrewster Complex, Aberdeen Duration: Permanent, Full Time R oles that require PVG Membership Please note that with effect from 1 April 2023 , where a role requires PVG membership, candidates will be required to meet the cost of the PVG membership . This applies only to roles with a full time equivalent salary of £30,000 and above . (Teaching roles and jobs at Grade 11 and above (currently £30,285 per annum / £ 16.64 per hour) The Council will pay for the PVG membership cost initially, either £18 for existing PVG scheme members, or £59 for non-members , and this cost will be deducted from an employee’s first FULL month’s salary payment. job purpose/about the role The post holder will be responsible for inspection, maintaining and repairs on vehicles, plant and equipment within Aberdeen City Council Fleet workshops and depots. To have the ability to work on their own initiative and to communicate effectively with Management team and customers. Please note – Salary Under Review Weekly rota shift pattern. Week 1: Monday-Thursday 6am – 2pm, Friday 6am-11:30pm Week 2: Monday-Thursday 14:00pm – 22:00pm Friday 11:30am-17:00pm The post holder needs to hold as a minimum: • City and Guilds, SVQ construction – Plant Maintenance or equivalent qualification in mechanical engineering • Full UK Driving Licence The postholder is able to demonstrate: • Ability to work on own initiative • Ability to communicate effectively with customers About Us Please see the Job Profile for further details.
