Job Description

Job Purpose:

Location: Greyhope School and Community Hub, Tullos Circle, Torry, Aberdeen

Duration: Permanent, Term Time Full Time

\\n

Roles that require PVG Membership

\\n

Please note that with effect from 1 April 2023, where a role requires PVG membership, candidates will be required to meet the cost of the PVG membership. This applies only to roles with a full time equivalent salary of £30,000 and above. (Teaching roles and jobs at Grade 11 and above (currently £30,285 per annum / £16.64 per hour)

\\n

The Council will pay for the PVG membership cost initially, either £18 for existing PVG scheme members, or £59 for non-members, and this cost will be deducted from an employee’s first FULL month’s salary payment.

\\n

Job purpose/about the role

\\n

To work as an effective member of the nursery team, to deliver a flexible, high quality early learning and childcare service in order to meet the individual needs of children and their families ensuring their wellbeing and improving the outcomes for children and their families.

\\n

The post holder needs to hold as a minimum:

    \\n
  • HNC Early Education and Childcare /S/NVQ Level 3 Children’s Care and Development NNEB or equivalent
  • \\n

  • Registration with or eligibility to register with SSSC
  • \\n

  • PVG Membership for Regulated work with Children and/or Protected Adults or willingness to obtain prior to a formal offer of employment being made.
  • \\n

The postholder is able to demonstrate:

  • Ability to relate to children, parents, carers and other professional colleagues.
  • \\n

  • Ability to assess children’s development and to plan to extend their learning in a way that motivates children.
  • \\n

  • Ability to communicate effectively. This will include non verbal, verbal and written forms of communication.
  • \\n

  • A good observer and listener.
  • \\n
