R oles that require PVG Membership

Please note that with effect from 1 April 2023 , where a role requires PVG membership, candidates will be required to meet the cost of the PVG membership . This applies only to roles with a full time equivalent salary of £30,000 and above . (Teaching roles and jobs at Grade 11 and above (currently £30,727 per annum / £ 15.97 per hour)

The Council will pay for the PVG membership cost initially, either £18 for existing PVG scheme members, or £59 for non-members , and this cost will be deducted from an employee\’s first FULL month\’s salary payment.

About the Role:

To assist and where necessary deputise f or the Head Teacher in the conduct of the
affairs of the school to the benefit of the pupils, staff and the community it serves
through pursuing objectives and implementing policies set by A CC in accordance
with current legislation and within the agreement s of the SNCT.

The post holder needs to hold as a minimum:

Full GTC (Scotland) Registration in the relevant sector

PVG membership – children and young people

The postholder is able to demonstrate:

Provide and promote leadership, good management and strategic direction in
areas of work of the school

Promote high expectations and standards through the provision of
professional advise, reviewing professional needs and performance and
supporting continuous professional development of colleagues

Take responsibility for aspects of curriculum development, learning and
teaching and meeting learners\’ needs

Take responsibility for aspects of improvement planning and quality
assurance

Work in partnership with parents, other professionals, age ncies and other
schools
