Role: A&K Nordics DMC Financial Accountant
Location: Cheltenham
Reports to: Finance Manager
Purpose of the Role
To lead and support the financial management of A&K’s Nordics DMC operations, ensuring accurate reporting, strong financial control, and proactive commercial insight. The role partners closely with operational and sales teams for the Nordic destinations (e.g., Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, Iceland) to drive profitability, efficiency, and informed decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting & Control
- Own the end-to-end production of monthly management accounts for Nordics DMC entities
- Deliver timely and accurate reporting packs to Group, including variance analysis and commentary
- Prepare and post month-end journals, including accruals, prepayments, and intercompany entries
- Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and ensure integrity of financial data
- Ensure compliance with local Nordic regulatory and tax requirements (e.g., VAT)
- Commercial Finance & Business Partnering
- Act as a key finance contact for Nordics DMC
- Provide insight into margins, product profitability, and cost control across destinations
- Support pricing, contracting, and supplier negotiations with financial analysis
- Translate financial data into actionable recommendations to improve performance
- Cash Flow & Treasury
- Manage and forecast cash flow across Nordic entities, including multi-currency considerations
- Oversee treasury activities, including payments, FX exposure, and liquidity management
- Monitor working capital (receivables, payables, deposits)
- Budgeting, Forecasting & Planning
- Support the preparation of annual budgets and rolling forecasts
- Work with regional stakeholders to model demand, seasonality, and operational costs
- Track performance against budget and provide clear variance explanations
- Operational Finance Oversight
- Oversee purchase and sales ledger processes in collaboration with shared services or local teams
- Review and approve supplier payments, ensuring alignment with contracts and cash flow priorities
- Ensure robust internal controls, systems, and processes are maintained and continuously improved
- Audit & Compliance
- Support internal and external audit processes
- Ensure adherence to Group policies and local statutory requirements
- Maintain strong documentation and audit trails
- Ad Hoc & Strategic Projects
- Support system improvements, process automation, and finance transformation initiatives
- Assist with new market setups, acquisitions, or restructuring within the Nordics region
- Provide financial input into strategic initiatives and business cases

Key Skills & Experience
- Qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACCA / CIMA / ACA or equivalent)
- Experience in multi-entity, multi-currency environments
- Strong Excel and financial systems skills
- Experience in travel, hospitality, or DMC environment preferred
- Understanding of Nordic markets or international operations advantageous
