The company maintains a portfolio of clinical programs across a range of neuromuscular, central nervous system, cardiovascular, and metabolic disease indications with a clinical-stage pipeline that includes investigational therapeutics for congestive heart failure, limb-girdle muscular dystrophy, multiple system atrophy, Parkinson’s disease, and Pompe disease. AskBio’s gene therapy platform includes Pro10™, an industry-leading proprietary cell line manufacturing process, and an extensive array of capsids and promoters.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the in vivo manager, you will provide support in running animal studies and downstream analysis on-site. This is a hands-on role with significant responsibility, requiring performing molecular biology assays at high throughput, performing immunohistochemistry protocols, and conducting procedures on animals.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform procedures with animals, such as dosing (including PO, IP, SC, IM) and tissue dissections
- Perform immunohistochemical techniques such as tissue processing, sectioning, antibody staining and imaging
- Perform molecular biology techniques such as qPCR, RT-PCR, DNA/RNA extractions and protein assays at high throughput
- Process, analyse, and present data
- Deliver quality work within project timelines
- Manage workload with minimal supervision
Candidate Profile
Essential:
- The ideal candidate will be educated to bachelor’s degree level in biology, chemistry, or a related field with 2+ years’ related industry experience, or other relevant experience from within a research setting
- Experience of working with rodents
- Motivated to learn and develop new techniques
- Enthusiastic and positive attitude
- Ability to present data confidently and clearly, both verbally and through written reports
- Strong organisational and planning skills
Desirable
- Experience with cryosectioning, microtomy and immunohistochemical techniques
- Experience in molecular biology, particularly qPCR, RT-PCR, DNA/RNA extractions.
