The Opportunity
Reporting to the Commercial Director, this role will take full responsibility for the technical delivery of all engineering projects. You’ll lead a small, multidisciplinary team and play a key role in shaping the company’s technological direction as it scales into new markets and application areas. Candidate Profile
Given the nature and size of the business, this role offers flexibility to be tailored to the specific skills and experience of the right candidate. We welcome applications from experienced Engineering Managers who can demonstrate the drive, passion, and potential to grow into a strong and effective Director level role. The ideal candidate will be educated to Degree level in electrical or mechanical design engineering, with several years of demonstrable experience in the development of industrial process equipment. You will be a natural problem-solver and leader, who thrives in a dynamic engineering environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a small, high-performing engineering team
- Provide technical oversight and authority across all projects
- Drive the design and delivery of bespoke RF and mechanical handling systems
- Ensure quality, compliance, and performance standards are met across all products
- Collaborate with the Commercial Director to develop product strategy and capability
- Engage directly with customers and partners—domestic and international—to understand needs and deliver tailored solutions
- Support proposals, quotations, and client negotiations
- Travel internationally as required to support delivery and build client relationships
Key Skills & Experience
- Strong background in industrial equipment design, development, and commissioning
- Experience across electrical, mechanical, and control systems
- Exposure to technologies such as:
- Power conversion systems (e.g. SMPS, transformers, converters)
- Industrial automation and control (PLC/HMI/SCADA)
- Thermal and materials systems
- RF systems (preferred but not essential)
Nice to Have
- Experience with pneumatic/hydraulic design (e.g. pick-and-place systems)
- Knowledge of RF heating, induction, or dielectric welding technologies
Compensation and Benefits
Competitive base salary commensurate with experience, performance bonus, pension: 6% company contribution, private health insurance and life assurance.
