Our client is seeking an experienced pensions professional to join their Pensions Administration Consulting team, where you will advise some of the largest public service pension schemes in the UK. In this role you will deliver high-quality, solution-focused advice on scheme administration, governance, and management, covering areas such as benefit calculations, member data quality, implementation of legal judgment changes, and pensions dashboards readiness.

You will act as a subject matter expert, supporting actuarial colleagues and identifying opportunities to add value for clients. You will take ownership of workstreams from end to end: scoping and project-managing assignments, producing written and oral advice to agreed timescales and budgets, and reviewing the work of junior colleagues. You will represent the team at client meetings, contribute to business development and profile-raising activities (including webinars, blogs, and networking), and keep clients and stakeholders informed of progress.

Beyond client delivery, you will play an active role in growing the team; horizon scanning, driving service improvements, leading product development, and supporting the learning and development of colleagues.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Strong knowledge of Defined Benefit pensions administration and scheme governance, particularly in the public service pensions sector
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex issues clearly to a range of audiences
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and work independently within broad direction
  • A collaborative, proactive approach and a genuine interest in developing others
