Founded in 1958, Abels removals is a removals firm based in Brandon, Suffolk, United Kingdom. Abels are proud members of BAR (British Association of Removers) and our house moving teams specialise both in moving antiques and specialist items such as pianos, grandfather clocks, fine art alongside day to day household items and furniture, always delivering the utmost care and attention, ensuring everything runs smoothly and guaranteeing our customer's peace of mind.
We are seeking an enthusiastic individual with van driving experience, looking for a new career challenge within the removals industry, to join a growing team based in Ely, Cambridgeshire. This is a hands-on role involving driving, delivering & collecting effects for key customers. To demonstrate a positive attitude with customers, other colleagues and to handle customers items in a professional manner. Also, to support other colleagues in their role as and when required.
Main Roles & Responsibilities:
- Handling, packing, loading and unloading, furniture and goods safely and professionally
- Ensuring all goods are clearly identified using the correct procedures
- Assisting with vehicle loading, routing, reversing (as Banksperson), and equipment care
- Compliance with Traffic Regulations
- Ensuring accurate completion of timesheets, inventories, and all relevant documentation
- Completing company training, including furniture handling
- Delivering a positive and professional customer service experience
- Adhering to all Health & Safety, manual handling, and traffic regulations
Experience & Qualifications:
- Full UK drivers' licence (no more than 3 points) – Essential
- Van driving experience - Essential
- Experience in delivery work – Essential
- Excellent customer service and organisational skills – Essential
- Previous removals sector experience - Desirable
Remuneration & Benefits Package:
- Salary – £32,760 per annum
- Normal days of work: Monday to Friday.
- Hours - 50 hours per week (weekdays) times can vary depending on the job and can finish late on occasion.
- Occasional weekends at increased rates when required
- Based out of the Ely depot
- Permanent, full-time
