Role Overview

As Boutique Director, you will serve as the face and driving force of Abel Richard in London.

You will lead a high-performing team, cultivate relationships with an international UHNW clientele, and uphold the maison’s uncompromising standards of excellence.

Your leadership will blend commercial acumen, cultural awareness, and visionary creativity, establishing the Bond Street boutique as a flagship of innovation and refined luxury.

Key Responsibilities

Client Experience & Business Growth

  • Lead and inspire the boutique team to create exceptional, long-term relationships with ultra-high-net-worth clients and collectors.
  • Achieve or exceed all boutique sales, category, and performance targets.
  • Develop and execute client development strategies, ensuring proactive use of CRM systems.
  • Represent Abel Richard at London’s premier cultural and luxury events (e.g. Frieze London, London Fashion Week, Masterpiece London).
  • Build a network within London’s UHNW, art, and collector communities, offering a bespoke and discreet client experience.
  • Elevate the in-store experience through exceptional hospitality, storytelling, and attention to detail.

Team Leadership & Culture

  • Recruit, train, and mentor a world-class boutique team committed to excellence.
  • Establish clear goals and performance standards through coaching, motivation, and regular feedback.
  • Lead by example on the sales floor, embodying the Abel Richard aesthetic and service ethos.
  • Foster a collaborative, creative, and entrepreneurial culture rooted in artistry and integrity.

Operational & Brand Excellence

  • Oversee daily boutique operations, including stock control, visual merchandising, and compliance.
  • Maintain boutique presentation and operational discipline aligned with Abel Richard standards.
  • Ensure adherence to all UK regulatory requirements, audit protocols, and loss prevention measures.
  • Collaborate with regional and global leadership to align brand strategy and boutique initiatives.
  • Partner with our Italian atelier to support bespoke commissions and international launches.

Required Qualifications

  • 5-10 years of experience in luxury retail management, ideally within high jewellery, watches, or heritage maisons (e.g. Cartier, Hermès, Dior, Richard Mille).
  • Proven record of achieving and surpassing boutique or flagship targets.
  • Established network within London’s UHNW and private client community.
  • Strong business acumen with confidence in analysing KPIs and financial performance.
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills with a polished, motivating presence.
  • Proficiency in CRM tools and retail systems (e.g. Microsoft Office, NetSuite, Lightspeed).
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and luxury event periods.
  • Multilingual fluency (Arabic, Mandarin, Russian, or French) is highly desirable.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience leading a flagship boutique or opening a new retail location in the luxury sector.
  • Established relationships with collectors, celebrities, or VIP clientele.
  • Familiarity with Bond Street’s luxury landscape, including high jewellery and couture retail.
  • Awareness of ethical luxury practices and sustainability in modern retail.
  • Connections across art, design, hospitality, and cultural sectors in London.
