Role Summary
The PR and Social Media Executive will help us to create more fame for the Abel & Cole brand. Sitting in the Brand & Creative Team, Marketing Department, your role will span two channels. Following our annual PR strategy, you’ll be our ‘boots on the ground’, drafting press releases, organising press mailings, building relationships with journalists, and responding to reactive journalist requests. You’ll also help to activate our organic social media strategy. This is a craft-focused role, for someone who is excited to turn ideas into action. You’ll plan out our social calendar, draft social media captions, brief our designers and videographers, and schedule our content.
Skills and characteristics
- You’re a natural storyteller, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- You’re able to identify a single-minded, engaging hook for a release or social post, and execute it with strong attention to detail for accuracy.
- You’re confident in your ability to pitch ideas and win over hearts and minds.
- At least a year of experience in PR, either agency side or in-house, with examples of food PR campaigns where your outreach has achieved positive coverage.
- You have an up-to-date network of relevant foodie journalists.
- Interest in social media and curiosity in what makes social media content fly.
- You’re an energetic self-starter who thrives in fast-paced, collaborative environments.
- You’re bursting with ideas, with your finger on the pulse of trends and the news agenda.
Desirable
- Solid understanding of the role that Digital PR plays in strengthening SEO and GEO performance, with examples from own campaign work.
- Social media experience creating or supporting on the delivery of content for a brand across multiple platforms.
