Job Description

Working within the Group Finance team, this role is integral in ensuring the accurate and timely reporting of our financial results. The team are responsible for the Group’s financial reporting, the coordination and running of the month and quarter end timetables for submission of results to the parent company, the monthly consolidation of results, certain areas of accounting that are centralized for the group, namely leases, and providing the technical expertise to the wider finance team.

Reporting into the Finance Manager – Group Finance, this is an opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, in a growing global business that operates under a SOX environment and is transitioning to reporting under a multi-GAAP framework (US GAAP and IFRS), in multi currencies. Working with a range of stakeholders, both internal and external, in a number of different countries, this is a dynamic role and an opportunity for a finance professional to make an immediate impact. The role is part of a 3-4 person team and is suited for a newly qualified accountant who is looking to make their first move into industry.

Responsibilities of the team

  • Production of financial reporting disclosures for the subsidiary financial statements;
  • Preparation for external audits and internal reviews by working closely with our auditors and ensuring that deliverables are prepared accurately and within set deadlines;
  • Key activities relating to the month end consolidation and close and responsible for the accuracy of key balance sheet items across the group;
  • Responsible for the accounting for leases across all group entities;
  • Preparation of monthly files for journal postings and submission of journals for internal approval, ensuring supporting files are SOX compliant;
  • Responsible for submission of monthly and quarterly reporting packages to the parent company;
  • Working with the wider finance team to drive the month-end process and ensuring tasks are completed to a high quality and on-time;
  • Responsible for the preparation of key controls, ensuring that these operating effectively;
  • Close interactions with a variety of internal and external stakeholders including Entity finance teams, Finance Business Partners, Tax and Treasury, and internal and external audit;

The role is based in our Cambridge office where we operate hybrid working with 3 days a week in the office and 2 days per week can be work from home.

Qualifications

You will have a professional qualification (ACA, CA, ACCA or equivalent) and experience working within or auditing large, listed multinational businesses. You will need the ability to work alongside and influence senior members of staff.
