Abcam is seeking a highly motivated and organized Senior Project Manager to join the newly established Danaher Affinity Reagent Autonomous Laboratory hosted at Abcam in Cambridge. This is a unique opportunity to support the delivery of a cutting‑edge AI driven antibody discovery platform and associated antibody discovery projects by coordinating timelines, resources, and cross‑company collaboration. This position reports to VP of Danaher Affinity Reagents Autonomous Laboratory and is located in Cambridge (UK).
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
- Support the establishment of a new automated, data-driven antibody discovery platform by building and maintaining integrated project plans (milestones, dependencies, risks), and driving predictable delivery across workstreams (e.g., automation & data, molecule design, production).
- Coordinate cross‑functional execution by aligning priorities, tracking progress, unblocking issues, and ensuring clear handoffs between teams so materials, methods, and data move smoothly through the pipeline.
- Ensure strong project governance and communication through practical status reporting, decision/action logs, clear documentation, and stakeholder updates, making sure teams have what they need to move fast without losing quality.
The essential requirements of the job include:
- Project management qualifications and proven experience delivering complex scientific/technical programs with senior stakeholder visibility, including confidently presenting progress, risks, and decisions to leadership audiences.
- Strong cross‑company coordination skills (e.g., vendors, partners, CROs), with a track record of aligning priorities, managing dependencies, and driving decisions across different organisations and ways of working.
- Excellent communication, judgement, and discretion: able to handle confidential information, negotiate practical solutions, and maintain clear governance (actions, decisions, risks) in a fast‑moving environment.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
- Experience supporting the build‑out of automated and/or AI‑enabled life science platforms (e.g., workflow standardisation, automation enablement, data capture readiness, operational rollout).
- Experience running formal cross‑company governance (e.g., steering meetings, decision logs, change control) and maintaining momentum across senior stakeholder groups.
- Experience with commercial delivery mechanics (e.g., statements of work, purchase orders, budget tracking, milestone‑based vendor management, and managing scope changes with partners).
- The Danaher Business System, or similar business improvement and project management tools.
