The Product Development Specialist, Antibodies, R&D is responsible for delivering high‑quality technical documentation and statements of work for antibody new product development projects. This includes project scoping and understanding detailed customer needs for custom projects within a technical sales and customer‑orientated environment. You will provide technical input to define target product profiles and project approach.
- Customer interaction: liaise with customers, partners and account managers to support project opportunities from lead to sale.
- Project management and process coordination.
- Oversee opportunity funnel management process, monitor KPIs and manage associated metrics and actions to mitigate risks.
- Optimize workflows.
- Provide project management support for programmes with key partners/customers and collaborators.
- Collaborating closely with global teams to gain deep insight into our product portfolio and advanced new product development capabilities, while effectively showcasing and representing our technical strengths.
This position reports to the Senior Project Manager and is part of the Research and Development department located in Cambridge, UK and will be an on‑site role.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
- Work closely with account managers to maximize sales potential: support our global sales teams with customer interactions and relationships pre‑sale, including answering general and speculative enquiries from a technical perspective and confidently presenting to customers.
- Ensure that expected service levels are being provided, and that required planning and technical information is being exchanged effectively between different groups.
- Translate your understanding of customer needs and workflows into customer insights and communicate these to shape future product development and marketing activities.
- Work across our global R&D teams to maintain technical expertise, deliver to timeframes, and contribute to our continuous improvement culture.
The essential requirements of the job include:
- PhD in Life Sciences or BS/MS with significant research experience (5 years+).
- Using antibodies within a research or clinical setting.
- +2 years of experience in customer/collaborator/client service or relationship management with excellent customer‑facing communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with a flexible approach; able to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Scientifically rigorous with great attention to detail and able to create professional, high‑quality materials for customer interactions.
- A proactive, can‑do approach with a passion for continuous improvement.
Travel, motor vehicle record & physical/environment requirements:
- 5‑10 % travel.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
- Project management.
- Antibody development / protein science.
- Experience working in the pharma sector.
