The Assistant Tax Manager is responsible for corporate tax compliance, reporting, and international tax matters. You will assist in ensuring accurate tax filings and contribute to the smooth operation of tax processes across the group. This position reports to the Head of Tax and is part of the Finance Function located in Cambridge and will be an on-site role.
In This Role, You Will Have The Opportunity To:
- Prepare UK Research & Development Expenditure Credit (RDEC) and Patent Box claims, identifying opportunities to enhance claim value.
- Collaborate with external advisors to prepare and review UK and international tax returns.
- Prepare US GAAP tax provisions, including return-to-provision adjustments, calculating or reviewing corporate tax payments and ensuring timely settlement.
- Develop new VAT processes, including implementation of new preparation software.
- Maintain and update transfer pricing documentation in collaboration with advisors.
The Essential Requirements Of The Job Include:
- Recognized accountancy or tax qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CTA).
- Solid experience in UK Corporation Tax, either in a specialist tax role or as part of a broader finance function.
- Proficiency with ERP systems such as Oracle is desired.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive mindset.
- Agile, dedicated, and innovative in improving systems and processes.
