Fire & Security Service Engineer in Newcastle upon Tyne

Overview

We are seeking skilled and reliable Fire & Security Engineers to join our team, specialising in the maintenance and fault-finding of fire alarm and intruder systems across the North East region. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality service in line with industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Carry out maintenance and fault-finding on fire alarm systems, including but not limited to Morley, Kentec, Advanced, Hyfire, and Cooper equipment.
• Ensure all work is completed in accordance with BS5839 standards.
• Maintain and fault-find on intruder alarm systems such as Galaxy, Menvier, and Texecom.
• Undertake intruder system maintenance and diagnostics in line with PD6662 requirements.
• Accurately log jobs and provide detailed, clear information using CASH .
• Complete timesheets accurately and ensure they are submitted within deadlines.
• Follow company Health & Safety policies and work safely in accordance with regulatory requirements.
• Participate in an out-of-hours call-out rota as part of the engineering team.
• Drive to customer sites across the North East; full UK driving licence required.

What You\’ll Bring

• Minimum 3+ years consecutive experience working as a Fire & Security Engineer.
• Strong technical knowledge of industry-leading fire and intruder alarm systems.
• Excellent fault-finding, analytical, and diagnostic skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication skills and attention to detail.
• Strong understanding of relevant British Standards (BS5839 and PD6662).
