This role is for RAAM Construction, which is part of the ABCA Group. We are always seeking skilled Carpenters specialised in fire protection and prevention. You will possess a strong understanding of fire safety regulations, building codes, and construction techniques related to fire prevention. The primary responsibility of the Fire Protection Carpenter will be to install fire doors to mitigate fire hazards and enhance safety in various environments. This role will require physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Installation of fire doors in accordance with British Standard regulation and BM Trada Q-Mark scheme
  • Maintenance and repairs of fire doors in accordance with BM Trada Q-Mark scheme
  • Working on FRA (Fire Risk Actions) works, performing basic carpentry tasks such as cutting, measuring, and fitting doors and frames.
  • Conduct inspections and assessments to identify fire door deficiencies and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Follow all health and safety guidelines and regulations.
  • Provide timely reports and certification for completed works
  • Attend training sessions and courses as required.

Essential What You’ll Bring

  • NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Carpentry or other relevant trade.
  • Hold a valid CSCS or ECS card
  • Asbestos awareness certification
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Minimum 2 years of experience with fire doors installation and maintenance
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and documentation skills

Desirable

  • Knowledge of BM Trada fire door installations and inspection standards
  • City and Guilds Carpentry and Joinery Qualified
