ABC Teachers are currently recruiting for a Y1 Teacher in the Sandwell area on a long-term, full-time basis to start after the Easter break.
About the role
You will be working with Year 1 students and be teaching all subjects, including Maths and English. The school uses the Jane Considine approach to writing and also delivers the Power of Maths, so knowledge of this would be preferable but not essential, as training will be provided for the right person. Due to the importance of early reading, they require you to be able to teach synthetic phonics well. As the Year 1 Class Teacher, you will be supported by a welcoming team and middle leader. You will be expected to attend relevant staff meetings and receive a day of fortnight PPA with the team. There will be an expectation to finish reports at the end of the year too. As the Teacher, you may also be asked to meet with parents for open day or parents evening in the summer term. To be successful, you will need to have a passion for teaching, good curriculum knowledge, and good behaviour management.
