ABC Teachers is currently recruiting for an Unqualified Teacher of SEN, delivering PE in a unique outdoor learning environment for students aged 11-19 with special educational needs. Based in Leicestershire near Loughborough, this full-time, permanent role is ideal for a passionate individual eager to make a difference in the lives of vulnerable learners through physical education, relationship-building, and outdoor experiences.
Working Hours:
- Monday – Friday (08:30am-15:30pm)
- Term Time Only, 190 contact days
- 5 inset days
About the role
- Deliver engaging and inclusive PE sessions tailored to students with SEN
- Teach small groups in a nurturing environment, with outdoor learning extensions
- Support students\’ physical, emotional, and social development through movement and activity
- Build strong, trusting relationships to promote emotional safety and engagement
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support academic and pastoral progress
- Utilize understanding of Autism and SEMH to support individual needs

About you
- Experience working with young people with SEN, preferably in a school or alternative provision
- Passion for PE and understanding of its role in holistic development
- Creative approach to outdoor and experiential learning
- Strong communication skills and ability to build trust with vulnerable learners
- Resilient, calm, and adaptable in a dynamic environment
- Commitment to ongoing professional development
- Minimum of 2 years experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Conditions
- Ability to pass DBS check and provide satisfactory references
