ABC Teachers is seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to work in an SEN School in Dudley full-time.

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the learning and development of students with a range of complex needs. Working closely with the class teacher and a skilled team of support staff, you will provide personalised support to help pupils overcome barriers to learning. You will support students aged 4 to 19 with severe and profound learning difficulties, offering one-to-one and small group interventions as needed. This is a full-time role with the potential to become long-term for the right candidate.

The school supports pupils with a wide variety of special educational needs, including physical disabilities, sensory impairments, and complex medical conditions. It has a strong, inclusive ethos that promotes achievement and wellbeing for every child. The environment is nurturing and engaging, designed to meet the individual needs of all students and help them thrive. The school is conveniently located with good transport links from Stourbridge, Oldbury, and Halesowen.

Requirements

  • Have previous experience working with children and young people with a range of special educational needs, such as learning difficulties, autism and sensory needs.
  • Suitable qualifications such as Youth Work, Health and Social Care or Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools are desired but not essential.
  • Able to obtain suitable references and a DBS check.
  • The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are: two years experience supporting students with special educational needs.

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications.
