Are you a recent graduate looking to gain classroom experience and kickstart a career in education? ABC Teachers is seeking Graduate Cover Supervisors to work across secondary schools in Derby and surrounding areas.

About the role

A Cover Supervisor plays a vital role in schools, supervising pre-set lessons in the absence of the regular teacher. You don’t need to be a qualified teacher, just confident, organised, and ready to lead a classroom. Whether you’ve worked with children before or are looking for a new challenge, we offer full training and ongoing support to help you succeed.

Responsibilities

• Deliver pre-prepared lessons to students in the teacher’s absence
• Maintain good classroom behaviour and ensure a productive learning environment
• Support students with their work, answering questions when needed
• Follow the school’s policies on safeguarding, behaviour, and attendance
• Act as a positive role model for students, promoting engagement and motivation

Requirements

• Recent graduates in any subject
• Enthusiastic individuals with strong communication skills
• Experience working with young people is a bonus (sports coaching, tutoring, mentoring, youth work, etc.)
• Ability to travel to schools in and around Derby
• A proactive mindset and willingness to learn
• Able to work within the UK and willing to apply for an Enhanced DBS
