Graduate cover supervisor- Training provided

ABC Teachers are currently recruiting Graduate Cover Supervisors to work in secondary schools across Stoke-on-Trent and the surrounding Staffordshire area. This is an excellent opportunity for graduates considering a career in teaching, education, or child development.

About the role

As a Graduate Cover Supervisor, you will gain hands-on classroom experience, delivering pre-set lessons and supporting pupils in the absence of the class teacher.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Supervising whole classes during short-term teacher absences
• Delivering pre-prepared lesson plans across a range of subjects
• Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies
• Supporting students to stay on task and engaged with learning
• Gaining valuable experience in secondary school environments

This role is ideal for education graduates, sports science graduates, or those with transferable experience working with young people.

You will be working in a variety of welcoming and supportive secondary schools in Stoke-on-Trent, including:

• Mainstream secondary schools
• Academies and multi-academy trusts
• Schools with strong behaviour and pastoral support systems

Requirements

To be considered for the role of Graduate cover supervisor- Training provided you will:

• Hold a UK degree (any subject considered)
• Have a strong interest in education or teaching
• Be confident leading a classroom of secondary-aged pupils
• Possess excellent communication and behaviour management skills
• Have (or be willing to obtain) an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
• Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable but not essential.

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:

• Hold a UK degree (any subject considered)
