ABC Teachers are seeking a dynamic and committed Maths Teacher to join a SEND school, based in Solihull.

The Role

  • You will teach small groups of learners who may be working below age-related expectations, adapting the curriculum to ensure it is meaningful, relevant, and appropriately challenging.
  • Plan and deliver engaging Maths lessons for KS3 and KS4 pupils, ensuring learning is accessible and differentiated.
  • Teach a range of accredited pathways at KS4 (e.g., Entry Level, Functional Skills, GCSE where appropriate).
  • Use creative strategies and practical approaches to develop pupils’ confidence and numeracy skills.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, and other professionals to support pupils’ needs.
  • Track progress closely and provide clear, supportive feedback to learners.
  • Contribute to the development of personalised learning plans and EHCP targets.
  • Create a positive, safe, and structured classroom environment that promotes independence and resilience.

About You

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is a qualified teacher (PGCE/QTS/QTLS essential).
  • Has strong subject knowledge and a passion for making Maths accessible and enjoyable.
  • Has experience working with pupils with SEND—or a strong desire to develop their practice in a specialist setting.
  • Can differentiate effectively and use a range of teaching and behaviour-regulation strategies.
  • Is patient, reflective, and committed to helping young people overcome barriers to learning.
  • Works well as part of a collaborative and compassionate team.

Requirements

As a suitable Maths Teacher, you will:

  • Have a suitable qualification (QTS/QLTS).
  • Have experience of working with children with special education needs and disabilities.
  • Be confident in your abilities and skills to promote happy and confident learners.
  • Able to obtain suitable references and a DBS check.

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications.
