ABC Teachers is looking for a skilled 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEN School in Birmingham on a full-time basis. About the role
- Deliver 1:1 support and learning sessions to students with ASC, helping them achieve progress in a way that suits their pace and style.
- Work confidently with students presenting a range of needs, including anxiety, trauma, ADHD, autism, or behavioural challenges.
- Collaborate with teaching staff and SEN teams to develop tailored lesson plans, aligned with the wider curriculum.
- Monitor and assess individual progress using baseline data and assessments from home schools, working to reduce educational gaps caused by emotional or medical difficulties.
- Provide encouragement, promote independence, and support students in building confidence, motivation, and resilience.
- Full-time position available immediately, with the potential for a long-term role for the right candidate.

Requirements
- To be considered for the role of 1:1 Teaching Assistant you will have previous experience working with children and young people with a range of special educational needs, such as learning difficulties, autism, and sensory needs.
- Suitable qualifications such as Youth Work, Health and Social Care or Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools are desired but not essential.
- Have strong communication skills with the ability to quickly build rapport with students.
- Able to obtain suitable references and a DBS check.
Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are at least two years of experience supporting people with special educational needs.
