Job Purpose: A key role within the marketing team to assist with promoting Chambers' services and barristers β providing a full range of marketing support including events, data management, digital content and administration.

About the Role:
Selborne Chambers is seeking a creative, organised and hard-working individual to join their friendly and busy marketing team, working alongside the Head of Marketing & Business Development and Marketing Assistant. The ideal candidate should demonstrate the ability to collaborate effectively with barristers, staff members and clients with excellent written and verbal communication skills. You must have a keen eye for detail, thrive working within a fast-paced environment and be willing to take on various tasks and adapt to changing priorities as needed.

Event Organisation:
- Assist in the precise planning and delivery of Chambers' programme of events including internal and external seminars, lunches, conferences, pupillage fairs, sporting, social and charity-based events for members and/or clients.
- Support the team with the production of event materials, guest lists, programmes, and maintaining information on attendance.
- Assist in managing events including on-site setting up and assistance, meeting and greeting guests, ordering and displaying refreshments, and the general running and closing of events (including morning and evening events).
- Research into and attend venue viewings, liaising with events venues and suppliers.
- Research into relevant external conferences and events.
Digital Marketing, Social Media & Website Management:
- Assist with the management of digital content and brand management, including the website, social media accounts and marketing campaigns, podcasts and webinars.
- Create high quality digital content, including artwork design for social media posts β following brand guidelines.
- Update, edit and proof-read online content, liaising with relevant stakeholders.
- Assist in the administration of digital campaigns and initiatives.
Data Management:
- Maintain an accurate and up-to-date marketing and client database, including conducting research into new contacts and note practice areas of interest.
- Cleanse and update data.
Legal Directory Submissions & Awards:
- Assist with the administration and preparation of submissions to the Legal Directories, including updating and proof-reading member profiles, setting up follow-up interviews for barristers with directory researchers and referee management through the directory portal.
- Assist with the evaluation of yearly rankings.
- Assist with Legal Award Submission.
Internal Communications & Meetings:
- Collate updates from all key staff members; list opportunities for members' consideration in a monthly internal newsletter for members and staff.
- Help to promote internal communications and cohesion.
- Attend and minute marketing-related internal meetings and noteaction points.
- Support Chambers Committees from an administration and marketing perspective, including the Pupillage committee Equality Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) Committee, the Wellbeing Committee, and the Chambers Social Responsibility (CSR) Committee.
General Support:
- Assist the administration staff and clerking team with updating diaries and booking travel/accommodation.
- Such other tasks may reasonably be required from time to time.
Required Skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail
- Strong organisation and/or project management skills
- Experience of event management
- Digital design/creative experience
- Be proactive and flexible
Desirable Skills
- Marketing degree or equivalent qualification preferred but not essential
- Video/audio editing experience preferred but not essential
- Previous experience in a marketing position within a similar legal services or professional service environment.
Software Knowledge:
Selborne use the following software/online platforms on a regular basis. Experience in most of these is ideal, but not essential: Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Canva, LEX (Opus2 Chambers Management Software for Barristers), WordPress, Zoom, LinkedIn
