About the Role:

Reporting to, and working closely with the Senior Clerk, this role offers an exciting opportunity to take the lead in coordinating and delivering chambers' marketing activity. Combining strategic thinking with hands-on execution, the Marketing Executive will drive digital campaigns, oversee events, and shape brand communications to strengthen chambers' profile and market presence. Working closely with members and clerks, you will champion practice areas through engaging content, high-quality marketing materials, and targeted initiatives. You will also track performance, using insight and analysis to continuously refine activity and maximise impact. This position provides genuine ownership of a well-established marketing function, with the scope to influence strategy, introduce innovative ideas, and make a visible contribution to chambers' ongoing success. A background in chambers is essential, along with a strong understanding of chambers' culture and a keen attention to detail. This is an excellent opportunity for a junior marketing professional within chambers or someone looking to transition into a dedicated marketing role, building on an existing framework while developing their skills in a supportive and dynamic environment.

About New Square Chambers:

Based in London's Lincoln's Inn, New Square Chambers is home to a leading team of Commercial Chancery barristers. The set comprises 45 members, including four King's Counsel, who bring extensive expertise across a broad range of matters within the Business and Property Courts. These include Trusts, Wills & Estates, Property, Company & Partnership, Insolvency, Commercial Litigation, Civil Fraud, and Alternative Dispute Resolution. Members regularly represent clients at all levels of courts and tribunals in England and Wales, as well as in inquiries, arbitrations, and numerous offshore jurisdictions, including Jersey, the Isle of Man, the Cayman Islands, the Bahamas, the British Virgin Islands, and Bermuda. The Practice Management team, led by Senior Clerk Michelle Greene, is known for delivering outstanding client care and effective practice support. Widely recognised for their collaborative approach, the team works seamlessly to navigate complex matters while prioritising client needs. Key Responsibilities

  • Website Updating/editing content when required
  • Remind barristers to update their profiles
  • Monitor website to ensure all data is correct and deadlines up to date
  • Be proactive as to suggestions to improve functionality of website
  • Creating and facilitating digital content for online media platforms, including podcasts, webinars etc
  • Plan, create and analyse LinkedIn content, driving engagement and audience growth
  • Organisation of events/seminars and conferences, to include venue and location research and booking, including contract negotiations
  • Arranging catering, entertainment, AV, photography, signage, slides, name tags, gift bags etc.
  • Preparing invitations via LEX or other platform as directed
  • Setting up venue, if in London
  • Organising slides, branded handouts, speaker biographies
  • Hosting registration desk
  • Gathering marketing materials at end (this will require staying to end of conference to pack up, usually no later than 6.30pm, advance notice of these dates will be given)
  • Organising a range of events including client hospitality, lunches, dinners and drinks
  • Assisting Senior Clerk with monitoring, collating and combining directory submissions
  • Tracking, and advertising, all awards and directory placements, maintaining a record of them and amending profiles/chambers material accordingly.
  • Organising and attending internal marketing/practice area meetings
  • Effectively communicating news, updates and achievements to all members and staff through clear understanding of Chambers and members practice areas
  • Day-to-day management of the events calendar and of entering dates of events into barristers and clerks diaries
  • Maintaining LEX client database - ensuring client information is correct and up to date
  • Recording and monitoring marketing budget by practice group and general marketing costs
  • Identifying cost savings where appropriate/more effective allocation of budget
  • Be aware of and increase chambers brand positioning as a set and in each area of law
  • Monitor competitor activity and emerging market trends
  • Identify growth opportunities to market the set and barristers
  • Increase engagement across digital platforms
  • Drive attendance and client engagement at events
  • Enhance chambers' ranking visibility in key directories
  • Monitoring and ordering chambers branded supplies

Person Specification

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with high attention to detail
  • Ability to identify and prioritise tasks accordingly
  • Creative
  • Previous experience working in barristers' Chambers is imperative
  • Enthusiastic, proactive and self-motivated
  • Strong organisational skills to manage multiple tasks at once
  • Must be able to work autonomously and be a collaborative team player
  • Responsible, organised and reliable, with strong problem-solving skills
  • Calm and flexible working in a busy environment with tight deadlines and willingness to attend some afterhours events
  • High proficiency of Microsoft Office and WordPress is preferred
  • Proficiency in LEX preferred but not essential
  • Must be IT proficient
  • Advantage but not essential experience of working with professional social media platforms and marketing applications such as photoshop, Canva, creative cloud etc

Additional Information

  • Working hours are 09:00-17:30 Monday-Friday
  • Remote working may be offered after successful completion of probationary period
  • 22 days holiday per calendar year
