This role is field-based, and candidates should live within a reasonable distance from the primary city. The geography includes the following locations: Rochester, MN; Cedar Rapids, IA; La Crosse, WI.
Responsibilities
- Execute brand strategy and tactics in the field, manage assigned territory and targeted accounts, build strong customer relationships, and maximise sales performance.
- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives to meet or exceed those objectives.
- Create pre-call plans using SMART objectives and execute post-call evaluations to continuously improve sales performance.
- Handle objections and concerns effectively to close on every sales call.
- Proactively serve customer needs and expectations to build trusted relationships and achieve win-win agreements.
- Develop and execute a call plan that achieves set metrics and optimises coverage and frequency to key customers.
- Continuously build understanding of customer needs, market landscape, competitors, and share this intelligence with the team to optimise brand strategy.
- Differentiating AbbVie’s value proposition with health providers and maintaining relationships with disease state experts and advocates.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy or business-related field preferred or relevant industry experience required.
- At least five (5) years of relevant industry experience, with three (3) or more years in the pharmaceutical/health/science industry preferred.
- Proven track record of success in selling and solid presentation skills.
- Ability to adapt selling approach based on customer style/behaviour.
- Innovative ideas and solutions to maximise business opportunities.
- Strong leadership and collaboration skills.
- Documented success in increased responsibility roles.
- Understanding of findings to develop sales strategies.
- Preferred: Proven success in sales performance within respective therapeutic areas.
- English language proficiency verbally and in writing.
- Must satisfy all applicable health care industry representative (HCIR) credentialing requirements.
- Demonstrates in-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge.
- Strong business acumen and proficient use of business tools.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening test.

- External: Specialty Physicians, pharmacists, nurses, others depending on brand plan.
- Internal: In-field team members, Sales Management, Marketing Management, Training, Customer Excellence, & Brand Plan stakeholders.

The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes it will pay for this role at the time of this posting. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location. We offer a comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, and 401(k) to eligible employees. This job is eligible to participate in our short-term incentive programs.
