Responsibilities

  • Lead on all employee relations issues, e.g. investigations, grievances, conflict resolution, disciplinaries.
  • Work closely with the BHR Team to strategise and agree a strong approach to all employee relations matters.
  • Develop, implement, and improve Employee Relations strategies, policies, and procedures.
  • Advise managers and employees on UK labour law, HR policies, workplace disputes, disciplinary actions, and terminations.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders (HR, Legal, Compliance, IT, Data Privacy) and external consultants to resolve employee‑related matters.
  • Handle communications with external legal counsel where necessary, and support litigation.
  • Lead investigations, document findings, and make recommendations for resolution; ensure all documentation is accurate and compliant.
  • Mediates conversations between employees/managers to drive conflict resolution.
  • Devise and deliver training to the HR team and leaders on ER topics, according to the needs at the time.
  • Monitor ER metrics, analyse trends, report findings, and propose action plans to HR Director.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant local and national employment laws.

  • Extensive HR experience specifically in employee relations.
  • Deep understanding of employment law and HR practices.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive situations with diplomacy.
  • Experience of mediation yielding positive outcomes.
  • Strong communication, social, and mediation skills.
