Reporting to: Commercial Manager
Experience in fit‑out, refurb‑ and new build is desirable. The candidate is also likely to be either MCIOB or RICS or working towards one of these accreditations, although not essential. You will have a desire to succeed, communicate effectively, be pro‑active, diligent and enthusiastic about your role. A professional approach always towards fellow colleagues, co‑workers and clients alike is paramount, maintaining relationships throughout the course of the project and beyond.
The candidate’s background should include all or most of the following experience:
- £1m to £10m project experience as Assistant CM.
- Experience in procurement of sub‑contract and sub‑consultant packages.
- Experience of JCT contracts.
- Experience of monitoring and reporting accurate costs to the commercial lead.
- Experience of negotiating and closing final accounts.
- Assist the commercial lead in financial reporting on key projects delivering to agreed targeted profit margins, maximising the commercial success of the project.
- Ensure Structure‑Tones best practice policies are adhered to, for continuous improvement in financial reporting.
Key Deliverables & Responsibilities:
- Accurate and timely project financial management.
- Monitor financial resources on projects ensuring key risks are clearly identified and brought to the attention of the Commercial Manager.
- Provide regular cash flow forecast reports ensuring positive cash flow is achieved where possible.
- Assist in producing monthly Internal Cost Value Reconciliation (CVR) reports.
- Attend financial meetings as required and contribute where necessary.
- Assist / take the lead in providing cost reconciliation reports on sub‑contract tender returns to inform appointments.
- Assist / take lead in compiling sub‑contract / sub‑consultant appointments.
- Assist / take lead in producing monthly sub‑contractors’ payments.
- Assist / take lead in providing accurate measures and take‑offs of project packages.
- Provide support as and when required to junior surveyors.
- Adhere to Structure‑Tones internal CMiC operating procedures.
Key Qualifications and Memberships:
- BSc in Quantity Surveying.
- Member of or working towards the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (Desired) but not essential.
