Role Overview: 

• Contribution to category expansion in alignment with brand vision across various products including handbags, accessories, travel, kids, men’s, pets, key gifting moments and more
• Assistance in developing products from concept to completion that represent key trends and commercial opportunities 
• Great understanding of materials, engineering and quality 
• Assistance in producing detailed specs to a high technical standard with a high first sample hit rate 
• Liaising with suppliers and factories during the sampling process 
• Assistance with thorough broad market and customer awareness research, material sourcing and trim/hardware selection 
• Input ideas to influence product development and discussions that address key trends and opportunities 
• An understanding of sales history, margin targets and range plans to ensure designs are aligned to deliver on commercial opportunities 
• Building relationships/collaborating with buying counterparts and wider product team 
• General admin support

Key Requirements:

• Previous experience as an Assistant Designer or equivalent is essential 
• Must be able to provide a portfolio of design work 
• Strong proficiency in Adobe creative suite (mainly illustrator and photoshop, 3D programmes such as Rhino would be a bonus) 
• Understanding of hardware and/or jewellery design process desirable 
• Great technical and creative design skills 
• Excellent attention to detail and keen eye for colour, detail and innovation  
• A self starter, curious and continuous learning mindset 
• Adaptable and resilient 
• Passion for Abbott Lyon brand and customer 
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively

Location

Our head office is in Manchester, with a London based Design Studio but we operate a flexible hybrid model. You should expect to be in the London Office up to three (3) days per week.
