Operations Scientist - Technical Location: Witney, Oxfordshire

Abbott Diabetes Care designs, develops and manufactures glucose monitoring systems and operates a Centre of Excellence in Witney for manufacturing electrodes and biosensors.

Role

Environmental Monitoring Group - Operations Scientist.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine environmental monitoring of cleanrooms, including air, surface and compressed air sampling.
  • Conduct particle counts, microbial sampling and other tests.
  • Maintain detailed records of all monitoring activities.
  • Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and other regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with production and quality assurance teams to address any issues.
  • Calibrate and maintain monitoring equipment.
  • Participate in internal and external audits.
  • Develop and implement cleanroom protocols and procedures.
  • Advise and mentor manufacturing personnel on cleanroom best practices.
  • Liaise with service provider and check returned data for accuracy.

Qualifications

  • Excellent attention to detail, logical and methodical approach to problem solving.
  • Ability to prioritize and adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Hands on practical skills or ability to develop them; spend time in the manufacturing facility.
  • Proficiency in IT skills including Excel and Power Point.
  • Degree level education in a science based subject.
  • Industry experience in an ISO cleanroom environment preferred but not essential.
