Operations Scientist - Technical Location: Witney, Oxfordshire
Abbott Diabetes Care designs, develops and manufactures glucose monitoring systems and operates a Centre of Excellence in Witney for manufacturing electrodes and biosensors.
Role
Environmental Monitoring Group - Operations Scientist.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine environmental monitoring of cleanrooms, including air, surface and compressed air sampling.
- Conduct particle counts, microbial sampling and other tests.
- Maintain detailed records of all monitoring activities.
- Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and other regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with production and quality assurance teams to address any issues.
- Calibrate and maintain monitoring equipment.
- Participate in internal and external audits.
- Develop and implement cleanroom protocols and procedures.
- Advise and mentor manufacturing personnel on cleanroom best practices.
- Liaise with service provider and check returned data for accuracy.
Qualifications
- Excellent attention to detail, logical and methodical approach to problem solving.
- Ability to prioritize and adapt to changing circumstances.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Hands on practical skills or ability to develop them; spend time in the manufacturing facility.
- Proficiency in IT skills including Excel and Power Point.
- Degree level education in a science based subject.
- Industry experience in an ISO cleanroom environment preferred but not essential.
