World Leader in Blood Glucose Monitoring, Abbott's Diabetes Care team designs, develops and manufactures glucose monitoring systems for use in both home and hospital settings. We have a Centre of Excellence in Witney for the manufacture of electrodes and biosensors used by patients and healthcare professionals for the day‑to‑day management of diabetes.

The Operations group is the largest team in the Witney facility, producing high volumes of test strips and biosensors each year to the stringent quality standards demanded by European and US authorities and our internal quality systems. The Operations Systems Engineering team provide software and hardware integrated solutions to support the manufacture and testing of both the Libre Continuous Glucose Monitoring sensor and Blood Glucose Measurement strip for the Abbott Diabetes Care division.

Working with teams across Quality Assurance, Operations, Technical Investigation and R&D and the product software design and Third Party Manufacturing groups, the Systems team deliver best in class systems solutions within an Agile SCRUM/Dev Ops working framework to support these product lines. The team deliver end to end solutions from bespoke embedded firmware to database design and data analytics/reporting tools within a highly regulated environment.

Main Responsibilities
  • Work with technical stakeholders to help product owners define technical requirements.
  • Develop software solutions (C#) in line with agreed priorities.
  • Actively participate in all SCRUM ceremonies.
  • Join the rest of the engineers to manage the Business As Usual backlog.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Enthusiastic C# Dot Net developer building their career, whilst bringing baseline experience in industry.
  • Passion for software engineering and enjoy working in a team delivering highly organised and efficient coded solutions in a Test Driven Development working methodology.
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering software and ideally have worked within a Systems team delivering software in a Medical Device or similarly regulated environment (wider FMCG or other sectors considered).
  • Educated to HNC/FDeg level as a minimum (or equivalent).
  • Committed and enthusiastic technologist interested in manufacturing and business systems.
  • Thrives in a dedicated team of skilled engineers but also embraces the opportunity to represent own contributions.
