To support ongoing demand, our UK & Ireland team responsible for all commercial and corporate roles, are looking to recruit an additional experienced commercial recruiter on a temporary basis of up to 6 months, to be based in our UK HQ in Maidenhead.

As a Talent Acquisition Specialist, you will partner closely with hiring teams and Business HR, supporting recruitment activities across various UK sites, driving full-cycle recruiting efforts from intake session through to offer negotiation and hire.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Full cycle recruiting, from the requirement definition, through offer negotiation and hiring, using Abbott's ATS and CRM.
  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies that leverage the use of cost-effective recruiting channels such as the Abbott careers page, job boards, social media posts, applicant tracking system data sources, referral programs, virtual job fairs etc.
  • Ensuring structured/competency-based interview process is followed for each hiring requirement.
  • Ensuring ATS (Workday) is maintained providing reporting as and when required.
  • Providing strategic market data and market research.
  • Identifying and resolving issues pro-actively.
  • Collaborating closely with Key Internal Stakeholders, these include, first-line hiring manager, Business HR, TA colleagues, HR practice centres, HR service centres.

Critical capabilities:

  • Support the operational hiring strategy and drive through established actions outcomes that yield tangible recruiting results.
  • Act as a trusted talent advisor, by building credibility with hiring managers, candidates, and within the wider Talent Acquisition team. Alongside successful placements, develop a deep knowledge of the labour marketplace and Abbott business and job functions. Actively influence candidates to join Abbott.
  • Take accountability for the hiring plan, timeline, and deliverables and make informed decisions throughout the recruiting process.
  • Support and embrace application or process change initiatives.
  • Demonstrate skills in reporting and presenting data using Abbott systems and MS suite. Attend TA training, proactively ask for support when needed and network with senior TA team members to learn new skills.
  • Support in-country and in-division TA projects.
  • Endurance and resilience: Problem-solve through set-backs and adapt to changes in direction.

Requirements:

  • University degree or equivalent.
  • Proven commercial recruiting experience, ideally a combination of agency and in-house, with a strong drive for direct sourcing via tools and networks.
  • Experience delivering meaningful candidate slates to hiring managers whilst operating in a fast paced and high-volume environment.
  • Interview and assessment skills to assess candidate’s business capabilities, technical background, and key behaviours.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to build professional relations across all levels of the business, including senior leaders and HR.
  • Strong work ethic, motivated to deliver best in class recruitment and ensure candidate and hiring manager satisfaction, and able to work autonomously.
  • Professional, accountable, and collaborative team player.
