Abbott Cardiometabolic Commercial UK & I are recruiting two

Key Account Managers . In this role you will drive the adoption of Abbott's innovative diagnostic solutions across your region.

This is a commercial role that combines account leadership, stakeholder engagement, business development, and market shaping.

You will work across the NHS, Public Health organisations, Integrated Care Systems (ICSs), Local Authorities, and private healthcare providers to identify opportunities, influence healthcare pathways, secure complex agreements, and deliver sustainable growth.

You will be an entrepreneurial, results-driven sales professional with a proven track record of success within healthcare, diagnostics, medical devices, or related markets.

You will have the ability to engage senior decision-makers, navigate complex healthcare environments, develop compelling business cases, and build long-term partnerships that create value for customers and patients alike.

This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on healthcare delivery while working within one of the world's leading healthcare companies.

1 position North Region, 1 position Central Region

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Account Management
  • Develop and execute regional account plans aligned with Abbott's commercial objectives.
  • Identify, prioritise, and develop opportunities across primary care, secondary care, public health, and local authority settings.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, influencers, and decision-makers across multi channels.
  • Establish Abbott as a trusted strategic partner within the healthcare ecosystem.
  • Business Development & Growth
  • Drive sales growth and achieve annual revenue, market share, and strategic objectives.
  • Identify emerging market trends, customer needs, and competitive opportunities within the region.
  • Secure sustainable contracts and long-term strategic partnerships.
  • Stakeholder Engagement
  • Engage with multiple stakeholders including clinicians, procurement teams, diagnostics leads, commissioners, finance teams, laboratory managers, and healthcare executives.
  • Map complex healthcare pathways and influence decision-making processes.
  • Support the development of innovative customer solutions that improve patient care and service delivery.
  • Project Leadership
  • Contribute market intelligence and customer insights to inform business strategy.
  • Market Development
  • Support the expansion of point-of-care testing across healthcare settings.
  • Represent Abbott at relevant industry meetings, conferences, and congresses.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of NHS priorities, healthcare policy, funding models, and commissioning structures.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential

  • Degree qualified in Business, Life Sciences, Healthcare, or a related discipline.
  • Strong sales experience within healthcare, diagnostics, medical devices, pharmaceuticals, or related healthcare markets.
  • Demonstrable success in delivering profitable sales growth and exceeding targets.
  • In-depth understanding of NHS structures, commissioning processes, and healthcare pathways.
  • Proven experience managing complex sales cycles and multiple stakeholders.
  • Successful track record of negotiation and contract management.

Desirable

  • Experience within diagnostic testing, point-of-care solutions, or medical device markets.
  • Understanding of commercial models such as managed services, leasing, and service contracts.
  • Experience supporting healthcare transformation or change management initiatives.
  • Knowledge of Public Health and Local Authority healthcare environments.
