Our all-chartered team works across London and the South-East on a genuinely varied caseload: domestic defect inspections, heritage listed buildings, complex subsidence investigations, and expert witness instructions for litigation. We are growing - opening new offices across the region - and we want talented engineers alongside us.

THE ROLE

Home-based with site visits across your region. You'll manage your own caseload with support from a collaborative team and a thorough peer-review process. The work is diagnostically interesting and professionally rewarding - no two weeks are the same.

  • Structural surveys and defect inspections - Victorian terraces, Georgian townhouses, heritage/listed buildings
  • Structural design for residential extensions, loft conversions, and commercial alterations
  • Clear, conclusive, client-ready written reports - peer reviewed before issue
  • Opportunity to develop expert witness reports - full training provided
  • Reports and drawings peer reviewed before issue
  • Direct relationships with clients and architects - you are the expert, never a middleman

WHAT WE NEED

ESSENTIAL:

  • Must be Chartered Engineer (CEng) and member of MIStructE, MICE or an accredited organisation, or close to achieving chartership
  • Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering
  • Solid knowledge of UK Building Regulations and current design codes
  • Excellent written English - you produce reports clients use to make major decisions
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle, unless using public transport eg inner London
  • Self-motivated and comfortable managing a remote caseload

DESIRABLE - WE CAN DEVELOP THE RIGHT PERSON:

  • Expert witness or litigation support experience
  • Experience with listed or historic building assessments
  • Structural design software - TEDDS, Tekla, AutoCAD or other software
  • Business development interest or client-facing experience
  • Experience managing or mentoring junior staff
