Abbotsfield Home School is seeking an enthusiastic, creative and dedicated KS1 Teacher / Creative Primary Practitioner to join our growing team.

About the Role

Working as part of our small and supportive team, you will

  • Deliver engaging and inspiring learning experiences across the KS1 curriculum.
  • Plan and implement enquiry-led, project-based and child-centred learning opportunities.
  • Support children's emotional wellbeing, confidence and personal development.
  • Develop meaningful relationships with children and families.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of Abbotsfield's creative and holistic curriculum.
  • Utilise outdoor learning and practical experiences to enhance learning.
  • Support the wider vision and growth of the school.

The successful candidate will work with very small groups of children, allowing for highly personalised teaching and meaningful educational experiences.

What We're Looking For

We are seeking someone who shares our vision for creative, inclusive and nurturing education.

Essential qualifications and experience

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent primary teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching EYFS and/or KS1 pupils.
  • Strong understanding of child development and inclusive practice.
  • Excellent communication, organisational and IT skills.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding responsibilities and strategies to remove barriers to learning.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with children, families and colleagues.
  • Full driving licence.
  • Right to work in the UK.

Desirable (but not essential)

  • Experience teaching mixed-age classes.
  • SEND experience.
  • Outdoor learning or Forest School experience.
  • Creative arts, music or environmental education strengths.
  • Experience of project-based or enquiry-led learning.
  • Additional training in literacy or numeracy intervention strategies.
