We provide round‑the‑clock care packages to support people including children, young people and adults who have long‑term health conditions to live in the comfort and safety of their own home. Our client lives in a village on the outskirts of Welwyn Garden City and requires support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with both day and night carers. She will require support with all daily living and social activities as she is a wheelchair user and has physical impairment. She requires regular catheter care, assistance with personal care and bowel management, due to being paralysed from the waist down.
Responsibilities:
- Day‑to‑day living tasks
- Catheter support and personal care if needed
- Attending her workplace in London twice a week
- Social activities
- Meeting up with friends and family
- Being a companion and supporting with hobbies and interests such as cooking, reading, going to the theatre and visiting different countries on holidays.
Desirable Experience:
- Experience of working within the care sector is desired but a real interest and passion in supporting people with disabilities to live fulfilled lives is essential.
- We provide an extensive training programme including the Care Certificate as well as complex care training.
- The ideal candidate must have a driving license as they will be required to drive a manual mobility car.
You Will Need:
- To be physically fit, calm, patient, friendly and caring
- Good organisational skills and the ability to work on your own initiative
- Personable with a proactive attitude to work
- Experience with spinal injury clients or similar
- Good communication skills
- To be fluent in English
- To be clean and tidy in both your appearance and ways
- Full UK driving licence
Contract & Working Hours:
We are offering both 0‑hour contracts and full‑time guaranteed hours of up to 40hrs per week. Working hours are between 7am‑7pm – 12‑hour shifts, including weekends.
