Our community-based support care workers provide care to our service users within their own homes to help them remain as independent as possible. We are seeking a reliable and compassionate individual to support our male client in his 30s living with a spinal cord injury. This role involves providing daily living assistance, personal care and support with mobility, whilst promoting independence and quality of life.

Our client lives in Ruislip - Greater London, where he shares his home with his wife and young child. Our client requires 24hr assistance and support from our care team due to his spinal injury. The hours are split into 2 shifts, both days and nights.

  • Day shifts – 7am - 8pm

There is a 1 hour crossover on each shift where we assist our client with repositioning and personal care. We are offering 0 hour contracts with rates of £15.00 per hour weekdays and £16.00 per hour weekends.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assisting with personal care, including washing, dressing, toileting, and grooming
  • Bowel care and catheter care – full training will be provided by Abbots Care training department and our community nurse assessor.
  • Supporting transfers and mobility (using hoists and other equipment as needed)
  • Assisting with physiotherapy or rehabilitation exercises
  • Accompanying the client to social activities, appointments and outings
  • Light domestic tasks to support a clean and comfortable living environment
  • Offering companionship and respectful, person-centred support
The ideal candidate will need
  • 1 year complex care experience is essential due to the needs of our client (Spinal injury or similar)
  • A respectful, empathetic and professional approach
  • To be physically fit and comfortable assisting with manual handling (training provided)
  • Good communication skills and a positive attitude
  • Must be reliable and punctual
