Abbots Care is an award-winning care provider who places their clientsand care needs at the centre of our service.
We provide round-the-clock care packages to support people who have long term health conditions to live in the comfort and safety of their own home.
We are looking for compassionate, dedicated and experienced care workers to join a specialist team supporting a client who sustained a life-changing spinal cord injury following a fall in February 2026.
Our client, a retired GP who lives in Marlow in Buckinghamshire, dislocated his neck after falling backwards down the stairs whilst letting his Labrador out.
As a result of his spinal cord injury, our client requires support with all aspects of daily living.
He is dependent on others to prepare meals and drinks and requires assistance with eating and drinking.
Our client will have a live in carer as well as an additional member of staff to support as he requires 2 carers for personal hygiene and repositioning.
He requires full support with continence care and ongoing pressure area management to maintain skin integrity.
Personal care and repositioning tasks require the support of two carers to ensure his safety, comfort, dignity and wellbeing always.
Alongside his physical care needs, our client requires support to maintain his emotional wellbeing.
He enjoys conversation and is looking for carers who are naturally engaging, confident communicators and happy to spend time chatting with him.
He appreciates carers who will ask questions, show an interest in his life and experiences, share a sense of humour and have a genuine giggle with him.
Building a positive and trusting relationship is just as important as providing excellent physical care.
Shift Patterns
We are recruiting for a flexible team of Care Workers to provide cover across a 24-hour rota, including day shifts, waking nights including alternate weekends.
Typical shifts will be 12-hour shifts between 8am-8pm / 8pm-8am although flexibility is required to meet our client's changing needs and rehabilitation goals.
We are seeking carers who can commit to regular hours whilst also demonstrating flexibility when required.
Additional shifts may be available to cover annual leave, sickness and changing service requirements.
Both full-time and part-time opportunities are available.
About You
