12 month FTC with strong possibility of becoming permanent. Hybrid working – 2 days office / 3 days remote.
I’m working with a large, established business that is looking to bring in a Tax Accountant on a 12 month fixed term contract. There is a strong possibility that the role could become permanent, so it could be a good option for someone who is open to a contract but would ideally like something longer term. The working pattern is also very flexible, with only two days a week required in the office and the rest working remotely.
The role would suit someone with UK corporation tax experience, either from practice or industry. You don’t need to have done everything in the job spec before, but you will need to be comfortable working with tax computations, tax reporting, reconciliations and financial data.
The role will include:
- Preparing corporation tax calculations and supporting schedules
- Pulling together information for tax reporting
- Reviewing accounting data and identifying tax adjustments
- Helping with year-end tax analysis
- Liaising with finance teams to gather and check information
- Supporting tax payments, forecasts and related analysis
- Helping improve existing tax processes
- Working with external advisers where needed
- Supporting wider tax and finance projects
You’ll probably be ATT, CTA, ACA or ACCA qualified / part-qualified, although strong experience is just as important. The main thing is that you have a good grounding in UK corporation tax, strong attention to detail and are happy working in a hands-on tax role within a larger business. This could suit someone currently in practice looking for a move in-house, or someone already working in a tax role within industry who wants more flexibility.
