We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Vehicle Technician / MOT Tester to join our team on a full-time basis. The successful candidate will have strong mechanical knowledge, practical diagnostic skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship and excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out vehicle servicing, diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs to a consistently high standard.
- Complete work on brakes, steering and suspension components, tyres, clutches, cambelts, and turbochargers.
- Diagnose mechanical faults accurately and recommend appropriate repairs.
- Communicate effectively with the Service team regarding progress, findings, and required work.
- Occasionally speak directly with customers to provide clear, professional technical advice.
- Use power tools, hand tools, and diagnostic equipment safely and efficiently.
- Maintain high customer-service standards that encourage loyalty and referrals.
- Follow all relevant health, safety, and workshop procedures.
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience in a similar Vehicle Technician or mechanic position.
- Strong mechanical knowledge and effective fault-diagnosis skills.
- Experience carrying out routine servicing and repairs to brakes, steering, suspension, and tyres.
- Ability to use workshop tools and equipment safely.
- High standards of workmanship and attention to detail.
- Good communication and customer-service skills.
- A current full UK driving licence.
Preferred Experience
- Experience replacing clutches, cambelts, and turbochargers.
- A current MOT testing licence.
- Previous tyre-fitting experience.
Applicants without an MOT testing licence may still be considered, as training can be provided to help the successful candidate work towards the qualification. xgikmsk Additional in-house training will be available where necessary.
