Over 60 years later, our mission thrives thanks to the hundreds of incredible volunteers who bring their unique skills and personalities to our houses and homes.
At Abbeyfield Living Society, our amazing volunteers are the heart of what we do. Without their dedication, many older people in our communities could feel isolated and alone. But with your time, you can change that

What skills and experience do I need?
The most important thing you bring is yourself! We have roles for everyone, regardless of experience. Your time, energy, and enthusiasm are all we need to get started. Of course, if you have specific skills you'd like to share, let us know! We're always looking for ways to make the most of your talents.
What support and training will I be given?
Hit the ground running with confidence! We provide a comprehensive induction program tailored to your specific volunteer role. This includes all the training and support you need to feel comfortable and empowered to make a difference from day one
Will I be invited for an interview?
After you apply, we'll invite you for an informal interview to get to know each other better. It's a chance for you to learn about the role and for us to see if you'd be a great fit for the team
Do I need to supply references or undergo a DBS check?
The safety and wellbeing of our residents is our top priority. Our volunteering roles require two references and a DBS check.
