We are now looking for an experienced and commercially minded Procurement Manager to join our Finance team and lead the development of effective procurement practices across the organisation.
The Role of Procurement Manager
As Procurement Manager, you will lead and embed effective procurement practices across Abbeyfield Living Society, ensuring value for money, strong governance and high-quality supplier partnerships. Supporting our Care Homes, Supported Housing services and Central Support functions, you will deliver compliant, sustainable and commercially sound procurement solutions that align with Abbeyfield’s values and contribute to operational success and financial sustainability. You will take responsibility for end-to-end procurement activity, including sourcing, tendering, evaluation, contract award and renewals. Working collaboratively with stakeholders across the organisation, you will develop procurement strategies that improve commercial performance while maintaining service quality and continuity. The role will also involve managing supplier relationships, supporting procurement governance and identifying opportunities for cost efficiencies, process improvements and enhanced commercial arrangements. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about building a modern, effective procurement function within a values-led organisation.
About You
You will have proven experience working within a procurement or commercial environment, with a strong understanding of procurement processes, contract management and supplier engagement. You will be an excellent communicator with strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams to deliver practical procurement solutions. You will also need:
- Experience managing procurement activity across a range of goods and services
- Strong commercial awareness with the ability to balance value for money and service quality
- High levels of integrity, professionalism and attention to detail
- Strong influencing, negotiation and problem-solving skills
- The ability to manage supplier relationships proactively and effectively
Ideally, you will also have:
- Experience implementing modern procurement approaches or leading procurement transformation activity
- Experience within health, social care, housing or not-for-profit environments
- Knowledge of public sector or regulated procurement frameworks
- Experience developing or embedding procurement practices and frameworks
- The ability to interpret and apply procurement legislation and governance requirements
