We’re seeking relief staff to complement our existing Sheltered Housing team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking for a flexible, rewarding role where they can make a real difference in the lives of older people.
About the Role: We are looking for someone to join our team, on a casual basis, covering staff holidays and sickness. Our bank workers play a fundamental part in ensuring our residents have the support and reassurance that Abbeyfield strive to provide.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- The Role of a Cook: With the welfare of our residents at heart, your job will be to ensure that our residents, staff and assets are kept safe, by being vigilant and conducting regular site checks and maintaining security. You will be the first point of contact in the event of an emergency and to respond immediately and appropriately to the Warden Alarm calls. Your role may also include providing domestic portage, scheduled cleaning and laundry, waste management, and responding to emergency repairs. Correct use of all equipment and products in line with COSHH requirements is key, as is the need to keep all COSHH assessments under review.
- Resident Support: Be the first point of contact for residents, offering a friendly face and support with their daily needs.
- Wellbeing Promotion: Promote the overall wellbeing of our residents, ensuring they feel respected, empowered, and connected within our community.
