Hill House is a residential care home, set in the beautiful, picturesque Devon countryside. Boasting 30 rooms, Hill House provides residential and Dementia friendly care to its residents. There are stunning grounds and views, as well as a hairdresser on site, comfortable, homely rooms for residents and a large communal lounge to relax in.
The role of Maintenance Operative at Hill House is a 30 hours per week contract. The role is Monday‑Friday 08:30‑14:30, with some on‑call duties.
Responsibilities- All repairs are carried out effectively and quickly, to a good standard.
- Work is carried out safely, with adherence to relevant building and construction related regulations.
- Readily identifiable issues are reported and addressed to minimise impact, risk and damage.
- Report any emergencies to Property Services.
- Complete and maintain the day‑to‑day repairs and maintenance of the building and its environment, including painting and decoration of residents’ rooms.
- Ensure strict confidentiality in all matters.
- Perform minor adjustments to windows, doors, restrictors and door closers.

- Ensure all relevant documentation is kept up to date and completed.
- Good general property maintenance knowledge and skills, with experience providing maintenance services to other clients.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to read and write to a good standard, and computer literate.
