We are now looking for a dedicated Finance Officer to join our Finance team and support the delivery of accurate financial reporting and performance monitoring across our Care, Supported Housing, Independent Living and Leasehold services.

Location: Remote – Home Based
Hours: 35 Hours. Monday - Friday. 9am - 5pm
Pay: £28,000 - £32,000 per annum
Contract: Permanent / Full Time
The Role of Finance Officer
As a Finance Officer, you will play a key role in supporting the financial management and reporting of a range of operational services across Abbeyfield Living Society. Working closely with the Head of Finance, Finance Business Partners and wider Finance team, you will help ensure financial information is accurate, timely and meaningful, enabling stakeholders to make informed operational decisions. Your responsibilities will include supporting month-end processes, preparing accruals and prepayments, investigating variances, completing reconciliations and assisting with forecasting and budgeting activities. You will also support service charge setting, leasehold accounting activities and direct debit projections, ensuring financial processes remain consistent and compliant across the organisation. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working collaboratively, has strong analytical skills and takes pride in delivering accurate financial information within a fast-paced environment.
About You
You will have at least two years’ experience working within a Finance team and possess a good understanding of accounting principles. You will be highly organised, self-motivated and comfortable managing your own workload while adapting to changing priorities. Strong communication skills are essential, as you will work with colleagues across all levels of the organisation.
You will also need:
- Excellent Excel skills and proficiency in Outlook and Word
- Strong numerical and analytical abilities
- Excellent attention to detail
- The ability to build positive working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders
- A proactive and collaborative approach to work
Ideally, you will also have:
- Experience within Housing, Leasehold or the Charity sector
- Knowledge of Local Authority Funding and Housing Benefit
- Experience using QL or similar accounting software
- AAT Level 2 qualification or above
